Ryan Garcia defeated Conor Benn via second-round TKO at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, successfully defending the WBC welterweight world championship. Benn, stepping up to a world title fight for the first time, was overwhelmed by Garcia's speed and precision. The fight ended at 1:25 of the second round after Garcia dropped Benn heavily with a right hand.

Benn rose unsteadily but was pinned on the ropes as Garcia battered him with savage punches. The referee stepped in to stop the contest. In his post-fight interview, Garcia credited his strategy of standing his ground, stating he was tired of Benn coming forward.

On the undercard, Jai Opetaia continued his unbeaten run. Last year, Benn faced Chris Eubank Jr twice at middleweight after his anti-doping suspension was lifted. Earlier this year, Benn met Regis Prograis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Garcia has previously recorded wins over Luke Campbell and dominated Devin Haney, though that result was changed to a no contest after he failed a drug test. After a year-long ban, Garcia lost to Rolando Romero before defeating Mario Barrios to win the WBC title.
