United Natural Foods, Inc. (NYSE: UNFI) reported fourth quarter and full year fiscal 2026 results ended August 1, 2026. Fourth quarter net sales decreased 0.7% to $7.6 billion, while full year net sales declined 2.0% to $31.2 billion. Net income improved to $84 million from a prior year loss of $118 million, with adjusted EPS increasing to $2.65 from $0.71. Adjusted EBITDA grew 27.0% to $701 million, and free cash flow rose 35.1% to $323 million. UNFI completed the initial deployment phase of Lean daily management to 44 distribution centers, supporting year-over-year improvement in fill rates and on-time deliveries. The company began onboarding additional business from new and existing customers expected to produce revenue growth in fiscal 2027 after cycling larger optimization actions. Fiscal 2027 guidance reflects high single digit growth for Adjusted EBITDA with a midpoint $25 million higher than December 2025 guidance. CEO Sandy Douglas stated the company continued strengthening commercial and supply chain capabilities to better serve partners while generating solid growth in Adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow, enabling further net debt reduction.

Net sales in the quarter included about a 500 basis point adverse impact from planned optimization actions and a 150 basis point impact of short-term project work, partially offset by lapping last year's cybersecurity event. Natural foods net sales increased 6.6% to $4.3 billion, while conventional foods declined 8.6% to $3.1 billion. Retail net sales decreased 7.9% to $528 million.
