Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has dismissed suggestions he is under early-season pressure despite a winless start. Carrick won the permanent job after a 12-game unbeaten spell as interim boss last season. Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Carrick rejected claims his position could already be under threat, stating it is "ridiculous" to think he could be under pressure so early. He insisted he is not thinking about how long he has got in the job. Carrick also pushed back at suggestions he needs to show more emotion after negative results, asking critics "in what way" he should express himself.

The club suffered another setback on Wednesday by giving up a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Brighton in the Carabao Cup, which Carrick took full responsibility for. He consistently refuses to make public excuses, insisting he will continue to shoulder any blame himself. Carrick emphasized the need for collective improvement as a whole football club rather than pointing fingers.

The team sits winless in the Premier League after six games, with the manager focusing on solutions rather than blame ahead of upcoming challenges.
