Bloomberg's Mark Gurman outlined expectations for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, set to debut on September 9. Gurman reiterated that neither model will feature major design changes over the current Series 11 and Ultra 3, dismissing rumors of Touch ID or a health-sensor-equipped band.

A key addition is the return of a ceramic case option for the Series 12, with Apple testing both white and dark gray finishes reminiscent of the high-end Series 3 from 2017. Performance will see its first boost in years via a new S11 chip, replacing the S10 used since the Series 10.

Health tracking upgrades include a feature allowing the heart-rate sensor to continuously collect data throughout the day. Apple is also revamping its Health and Fitness apps to display more wellness metrics, similar to offerings from Whoop and Oura. An Apple Watch SE 4 is not expected this year, while a major redesign and non-invasive blood sugar monitoring remain years away, with the latter targeting a 2030 release.
