TCL has brought two NxtPaper tablets and a kids smartwatch to IFA. Unlike the new TCL P80 phones, which introduced the first AMOLED-based NxtPaper displays, the tablets rely on LCD.

The TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper is a new 11" tablet with a NxtPaper LCD with 2.1K resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. TCL will offer the tablet on its own, but there is also a version that comes bundled with a Kids Proof case that adds protective padding, a place to stash a small stylus and a built-in carrying handle/kickstand. The Tab A1 is based on the Helio G100 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. This model has a metal unibody that is quite light at 426g. It measures 6.2mm thick and houses the 8,000mAh battery. The TCL Tab A1 NxtPaper bundled with the Kids Proof case will cost €270.

The TCL Tab A1 Plus NxtPaper was originally unveiled in March and is available both in Europe and in the US. This model has a 12.2" LCD with 2,400 x 1,600px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has TCL's proprietary eye care technology called NxtPaper, which reduces the blue light emitted from the display and the glare from ambient light. The A1 Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 with 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage. There is a 10,000mAh battery inside with 33W charging support. This model starts at €300 and there is a 512GB variant for €360.

The TCL Kids Watch K5 is designed to give parents peace of mind. It keeps your kid always connected over 4G and has a long-lasting battery (up to 2.2 days of usage). The watch reports its location and has a distraction-free School Mode. Since its primary functions are not all that useful while Junior is at home, TCL built a motorized cradle that turns the watch into a little robot desk accessory that can turn side to side. The TCL Kids Watch K5 (on its own) will sell for €100.
