Warburg Pincus investe em Awayday para liquidez acionária

Warburg Pincus Capital Solutions has taken a significant stake in Awayday, the US vacation rental management platform controlled by an Ares private equity fund and LightBay Capital. Awayday will use the proceeds to return capital to its existing equity investors, including Ares, Light Bay, and its rollover equity partners. A portion will also go to the local operators and team members who have driven the company’s growth.

Despite the partial cash-out, Ares and Light Bay will remain the controlling shareholders. The company partners with independent vacation rental operators that want the scale, systems, and support of a national platform but wish to keep their local identity, an approach it calls “Join Us, Stay You.” Today, Awayday manages more than 18,000 properties across the US through a portfolio of local brands, with more than 1,800 staff. Lee Becker, managing director at Warburg Pincus, said Awayday has built an exceptional vacation rental management company rooted in a business model that combines national reach with local connections and expertise, fueling strong organic growth and an effective M&A strategy.

The transaction exemplifies Warburg Pincus’ Capital Solutions strategy, which provides founders and shareholders with capital for balance sheet optimization, shareholder liquidity, M&A, or growth. The Founders Fund, closed in September 2024 with over $4bn in commitments, has executed recent hybrid capital deals including Excelitas Technologies, MB2 Dental, and Nord Security.
