Apple's iOS 27 Release Candidate, released to developers on Wednesday, introduces the long-rumored ability to customize the Camera app's controls. First reported by BloomMark Gurman in May, the feature allows users to modify the top-of-screen controls via a new Edit button accessed through the six-circle icon in the bottom-right of the Camera UI. From the 'Add Photo Controls' tray, users can add or remove widgets such as Flash, Live Photo, Aspect Ratio, Timer, Exposure, Styles, Filters, Depth Control, Night Mode, Center Stage, File Format, and Shared Library.

A 'Reset to Essentials' option restores default settings. Although absent from the WWDC June preview, Gurman noted Apple likely delayed the feature for the iPhone 18 Pro launch. Now, the customization is available on all iPhone models supporting iOS 27.

The public release of iOS 27 is scheduled for Monday, September 14.
