Amazon's Alexa for Shopping can monitor prices and make purchases automatically for eligible Prime members. To get started, use Amazon's built-in Price History feature—a blue button next to item prices on desktop or app—that shows price changes over 30, 90, or 365 days using AI. You can also chat with Amazon's AI shopping assistant, formerly Rufus, for product and price history answers.

Third-party apps like Camel Camel Camel or Keepa track pricing history but cannot place orders. Set realistic price targets based on historical data—for example, if an item frequently drops to $75, setting an alert at that price makes sense rather than an unrealistic $40 target. To set alerts, simply ask Alexa for Shopping to watch an item at your chosen price.

For auto-buy, explicitly request: "Buy these headphones when they are $75 or less." The feature uses your default payment method but doesn't work with coupons or promotional discounts. Ensure notifications are enabled in your phone settings. Alexa for Shopping is available to US customers via the Amazon app, Amazon.com, or Echo devices.

While Prime membership isn't required for price alerts, it's necessary for Auto Buy purchases.
