i Phone Duo is less than a month away, but many prospective buyers are still wondering how well the device will work in left-handed use. Here’s a video that shows a left-handed example. Here’s how i Phone Duo works in left-handed use If you’re left-handed, the i Phone Duo may be exciting but also spark some questions.

That’s because the new foldable is clearly designed for right-handed use primarily. When using the outer display, i Phone Duo’s left side is one straight flat edge because it’s where the hinge is. But the right side has curved corners, inviting you to open it like a book.

The dock is also located on the right side of the display, and Apple hasn’t said if an accessibility setting will let you move it to the left. So how will left-handed users fare with the i Phone Duo? Since everyone’s hand size is different, testing the device in an Apple Store will be the only way to know for sure. But I recently came across a video of i Phone Duo being used left-handed, and it’s the first time I’ve seen someone try it.

Here’s the video from Tom Hitchins (@bytereview) on Instagram: Hitchins looks a little uncomfortable with the device, but as he explains in the comments, that’s because he’s actually right-handed. Thus, his left-handed test was for others’ sake. The video says “works well enough” as Hitchins is able to reach from the left side all the way to the dock on the right.

But you’ll want to test yourself to be sure. I’m right-handed, but use my i Phone in my left hand so that my dominant hand is kept free. I suspect there are plenty of other right-handed users who do the same.

So I’m a little unsure about the adjustment to using i Phone Duo in my right hand, but will report back once I’m able to test it. Are you concerned at all about using i Phone Duo left-handed? Let us know in the comments.
