Fakecloud is a local AWS cloud emulator designed for integration testing, allowing developers to run applications with standard AWS clients while staying fully local. It supports 105 AWS services and 7,508 operations, with 248,557/248,557 Smithy variants passing true 100% conformance. The platform eliminates the need for accounts, auth tokens, or paid plans, enabling core development flows to remain local.

Users can start Fakecloud, run their actual code, and inspect emails, messages, and invocations after execution. It forces async AWS-style behavior to happen on demand. The project provides first-party SDKs for TypeScript, Python, Go, PHP, Java, and Rust, wrapping /_fakecloud/* endpoints for resets, assertions, and manual control of async processors.
