Andy Shovel, founder of the vegan sausage brand THIS, is launching Keith, an AI-powered law firm targeting the stressful conveyancing market. Shovel, who previously struggled with a house purchase, believes conveyancers face immense pressure from frustrated clients and agents. He estimates the backlogs in conveyancing tasks can take days to resolve, a problem AI agents aim to solve.

Keith will deploy around 30-40 specialized AI agents, handling tasks like contract reviews and specific enquiries, freeing human solicitors for complex issues like unexploded bombs or toxic waste. Shovel secured a £2m seed round to fund this venture, aiming to make conveyancing 'way more enjoyable' and significantly reduce backlogs. This pivot follows Shovel's exit from THIS, which reported operational profitability in December despite market headwinds for vegan brands.
