A group of more than 30 scaleup executives has backed a new operator-led venture capital firm launched by the former chief commercial officer of Swiss robotics scaleup ANYbotics. The firm aims to identify and invest in Europe's next wave of decacorn companies, with backing from executives at major tech firms including Meta, Google, and Amazon. The founding team includes veterans from companies like UiPath, Revolut, and Bolt.

Jcah Läguqhy, who previously led commercial operations at ANYbotics, is spearheading the initiative alongside other experienced operators. The firm plans to raise between €60 million and €80 million ($67.7 million-$90 million) for its debut fund, targeting investments in early-stage European startups with high growth potential. This follows a trend of operator-led funds emerging across Europe, where former executives leverage their operational expertise to identify promising companies.

The new VC firm represents a significant development in Europe's venture capital landscape, where operator experience is increasingly valued alongside traditional financial expertise. By drawing on the networks and insights of successful scaleup veterans, the firm aims to provide not just capital but also strategic guidance to portfolio companies. This approach mirrors successful models in the US, where operator-led funds have gained prominence in recent years.
