L Squared Capital Partners has closed its fifth flagship fund at a $2 billion hard cap, marking a significant milestone for the mid-market growth investment firm. The fund was significantly oversubscribed, more than doubling the size of its predecessor and bringing L Squared's total cumulative capital commitments to approximately $5.3 billion.

Fund V attracted a diverse global investor base including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, family offices, and institutional investors across Asia and Europe. This broad support underscores the continued appetite for sector-focused buyout strategies in the current market environment. The firm's track record of completing 70 add-on acquisitions across 23 platforms demonstrates its expertise in scaling businesses through consolidation and operational execution.

L Squared will deploy Fund V into approximately 9 to 10 platform investments across its core sectors: education technology, tech-enabled services and software, and industrial technology and services. The firm targets businesses with recurring revenue and strong market positions, aiming to drive value through operational improvements and strategic acquisitions. This latest fund closure reinforces L Squared's position as a leading player in the mid-market growth segment.
