At least one fifth of the world's 500 richest individuals now operate personal investment firms overseeing more than $5 trillion in combined wealth, according to Bloomberg data. Founded in 2019 by Matt McGrath, Emissary advises family offices on complex legacy assets, estimating that roughly 5% of typical family office portfolios are tied up in such holdings.

Macedo's move highlights intensifying competition among advisory firms seeking to capture a share of the growing private capital ecosystem surrounding billionaire-backed investment platforms.
