Ex-Coller CEO Joins Emissary as Family Office Boom Grows

Sara Macedo, former CEO of Jeremy Coller's family office, has joined Emissary Partners as managing principal, according to Bloomberg. Macedo previously led the London-based operation of Coller, whose net worth stands at approximately $4 billion. At Emissary, she will focus on expanding the firm's relationships across the Middle East and Europe.

The appointment comes as family offices continue to proliferate globally. At least one fifth of the world's 500 richest individuals now operate personal investment firms overseeing more than $5 trillion in combined wealth, according to Bloomberg data. Founded in 2019 by Matt McGrath, Emissary advises family offices on complex legacy assets, estimating that roughly 5% of typical family office portfolios are tied up in such holdings.

Macedo's move highlights intensifying competition among advisory firms seeking to capture a share of the growing private capital ecosystem surrounding billionaire-backed investment platforms. The family office sector's expansion reflects broader trends in wealth management as ultra-high-net-worth individuals seek more sophisticated investment strategies and specialized advisory services.
