Tributary Group has acquired Softworks Group, an Edmonton-based provider of regulatory membership management software. The investment marks Tributary's latest move into vertical market software, though financial terms remain undisclosed. Tim Edlund, founder and CEO of Softworks, will continue leading the company under Tributary's ownership.

Founded in 1990, Softworks has built a strong presence in Canada's regulatory sector with its flagship Alinity platform. The software serves over 60 Canadian regulatory organizations, helping them reduce risk and improve service delivery. This track record of serving professional regulators and licensing bodies made Softworks an attractive target for Chicago-based Tributary.

The deal represents a strategic expansion for Tributary, which focuses on founder-owned, mission-critical software companies across North America. By adding Softworks to its portfolio, Tributary gains a foothold in the specialized regulatory technology market while maintaining the Edmonton-based team's operational continuity.
