Ridgeview Partners has made a non‑binding offer to take private Pinewood Technologies, valuing the car‑dealership software provider at around £545 million ($766 million; €673 million). The bid is £4.48 cash per share, representing a 43 % premium to Pinewood’s July 23 share price and a 63 % premium to its three‑month volume‑weighted average price. Pinewood’s board called the valuation “attractive” versus listed peers and said it would recommend the offer if Ridgeview firms up the deal. Apax Partners had previously pursued Pinewood but withdrew its offer in February.

The investment will support SCG’s acquisition strategy and continued growth across healthcare, education, professional services, hospitality and construction.
