CVC Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Irca, a global B2B manufacturer of ingredients serving food manufacturing, foodservice and artisanal channels, from Advent International. The deal marks a significant shift in the private equity ownership of the specialty food ingredients company.

Under Advent's ownership since 2021, Irca transformed from €370 million in revenue to approximately €1.5 billion today, representing nearly fourfold growth. The company produces value-added ingredients and semi-finished products for pastry, bakery, chocolate and ice cream markets, positioning it as a key supplier in the food service sector.

CVC plans to drive operational excellence across Irca's manufacturing and supply chain capabilities while supporting expansion in the US and EMEA regions. This strategic focus suggests potential consolidation opportunities and efficiency improvements within the specialty ingredients space.

The transaction reflects continued private equity interest in food manufacturing assets, particularly those with scalable business models and international growth potential. Irca's transformation under Advent demonstrates the sector's appeal to financial investors seeking operational improvements.
