Carlyle Invests in Cybersecurity Firm Secturion

Carlyle has acquired Secturion Systems, a Centerville, Utah-based provider of hardware encryption solutions for sensitive and classified information. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This acquisition represents the inaugural investment from Carlyle’s middle-market aerospace, defense & government and industrials platform. Sean Berg, former CEO of Everfox, will assume the role of CEO at Secturion. Dayne Baird, a partner at Carlyle, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting Secturion's engineering talent and innovation. Carlyle plans to support Secturion's growth and mission impact by leveraging its resources and experience in advancing government technology.

D.A. Davidson & Co. served as Secturion's exclusive financial advisor, while Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati provided legal counsel to Secturion. Latham & Watkins LLP acted as legal advisor for Carlyle. Secturion Systems was established in 2012.
