Blackstone is leaning into two major defense trends — artificial intelligence and the proliferation of cheap weapons — through its latest platform, Falcata. The firm acquired Technology Service Corporation and Applied Systems Engineering and combined them under Falcata, which focuses on advanced seekers, radar technologies, guidance electronics, GPS-denied navigation and related national security technologies.

"We are particularly interested in areas where we can relieve chokepoints in the supply chain," said David Kaden, a senior managing director at Blackstone. He noted that the unit economics of war have shifted, making it less viable to counter low-cost adversary threats with expensive interceptors.

TSC is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, while Applied Systems Engineering is located in Niceville, Florida. Falcata’s formation aligns with a rapidly evolving threat environment where inexpensive drones and missiles can be deployed at scale.

In healthcare, Archimed announced an investment in Organika Health Products, a Canadian supplements brand, through its MED III and MED IV funds. The deal marks the firm’s first from MED IV. Separately, Renovus Capital Partners entered a strategic partnership with Aspire Home Health Care, a provider of orthopedic and traditional home health services in the Chicagoland area.
