Chicago-based Relation Insurance Services, backed by Aquiline Capital Partners, has acquired Thorn Creek Insurance Services Inc, a Springfield, Illinois-based property and casualty insurance firm. The deal marks another expansion for Relation, which was founded in 2007, as it continues to grow its insurance brokerage footprint. No financial terms were disclosed.

Thorn Creek Insurance, established in 2011 by Troy Alexander, will join Relation's network, bringing its expertise and client relationships into the fold. Alexander noted that the alignment in culture, goals, and growth strategy made the acquisition a natural fit. Clients are expected to benefit from expanded resources, while the Thorn Creek team looks forward to contributing to Relation's ongoing success.

Tim Hall serves as CEO of Relation, which has been actively pursuing strategic acquisitions to strengthen its market position. This latest deal follows Relation's pattern of targeting regional insurance firms that complement its existing capabilities. The acquisition underscores the continued consolidation in the insurance brokerage sector, where larger players seek to enhance their service offerings and geographic reach through strategic purchases.
