Future Fund's infrastructure allocation continued to grow in 2025-26, reaching A$33 billion. Speaking to Infrastructure Investor, CIO Richard Brandweiner said the portfolio's "meaningful exposure to private market assets" contributed to a strong annual return of 14.8%.

The increase reflects the fund's ongoing strategy to build long-term resilience through real assets, with infrastructure serving as a core pillar of diversification. Brandweiner noted that private market investments, including unlisted infrastructure, helped buffer volatility while delivering steady cash flows over the fiscal year.

The Australian government's sovereign wealth fund has steadily ramped up its infrastructure commitments over recent years, targeting assets that align with inflation-linked returns and stable, long-duration yields. The latest allocation marks another milestone in the fund's broader shift toward alternative investments.
