Dr. Marc Ayoub, a neurosurgeon and co-founder of Saile, raised $2.2 million in a pre-seed round led by Matchstick Ventures to address inefficiencies in healthcare staffing. The New York City-based startup uses AI to create a centralized platform for physicians to manage credentials and access side jobs, reducing onboarding times by 45 days.

The fragmented credentialing process, which delays doctors from starting new roles for 90-120 days, is a key pain point. Saile’s AI automates credential tracking, compliance alerts, and shift marketplace access, cutting administrative tasks for facilities by 40%. With 5,000 active users, the platform aims to connect underutilized physicians with demand across hospitals, surgery centers, and telemedicine platforms.

Investors highlighted Saile’s founder-market fit, as Ayoub built the tool to solve his own struggles with rent and understaffing. The funding will expand AI infrastructure, grow the physician marketplace, and deepen integrations with credentialing systems. Saile’s model charges facilities a per-seat fee for access to its pre-vetted physician pool, positioning it as a disruptor in the $8.6 billion healthcare staffing market.

By combining credentialing and staffing into a single infrastructure layer, Saile addresses a systemic bottleneck. As Matchstick Ventures’ Ryan Brosher noted, the startup’s “all-in-one” approach offers real value in a sector ripe for innovation. This aligns with a broader trend of AI-driven solutions tackling outdated healthcare workflows.
