Real estate M&A transactions jumped 40% in 2023-25 as deals involving sector specialists represent an increasing share of consolidation activity, according to a report from Hodes Weill. AIA is losing its reinsurance CIO and group ALM head after nine years with the Asian insurer, which manages a $333bn asset portfolio.

Infrastructure Sector

Infra Via raised €8bn for its latest European infrastructure fund, exceeding its upper target range by 14% or €1bn in about two years of fundraising. Wind operators face mounting challenges as lower wind speeds impact earnings of publicly listed sector giants, almost certainly affecting private infrastructure funds as well.
