Growth Capital Partners has appointed Richard Shaw as managing partner and Alex Thomson as head of the investment team in a leadership reshuffle. Both have been with the firm for 15 years and have led investments in companies including Bridewell, Hippo Digital, Infinity Works, Cubelogic, and DMW. Founding partners Garrett Curran and James Blake transition to chairman and senior partner roles, respectively, remaining actively involved.

The firm, established in 1999 as Close Brothers Growth Capital, became independent in 2009. It is currently investing from its £411m ($544m; €478m) Fund VI, raised in 2025, focusing on high-margin, intellectual capital-led businesses in technology and specialist services. GCP will continue supporting companies from the UK while selectively expanding into Europe.
