Sebastien Pocognoli will reveal his first Scotland squad on Tuesday ahead of the Nations League fixtures later this month. The 39-year-old takes over from Steve Clarke, who led the team to the World Cup in the USA. Pocognoli faces big decisions across the pitch, particularly in goal, where Angus Gunn, Craig Gordon, and Liam Kelly are all vying for the No.1 spot. Falkirk's Scott Bain has played more minutes than the others this season and could force his way back into contention. Goalkeeping options also include Liam Mc Farlane, currently on loan at Partick Thistle.

Defensive selection is equally complex. Captain Andy Robertson is expected to keep his place, but veterans Grant Hanley and John Souttar face uncertain futures. Souttar has been told his long-term future lies away from Rangers and he has not made the bench this season. Ross Mc Crorie's versatility and Anthony Ralston's drop in form at Celtic, with Colby Donovan preferred, could also see them miss out. Pocognoli aims to build a squad capable of improving Scotland's defensive solidity in the Nations League.
