Caballo De Mar bounced back from disappointing efforts at Royal Ascot and York to win the Betfred Howards Wright Doncaster Cup. The George Scott-trained stayer, under Oisín Murphy, pulled away from Beylerbeyi to land odds of 5-6 favourite by a length and a quarter.

Scott said: "We needed to see that from him today if we wanted to go back to Paris with him." He now targets the Prix du Cadran at Paris Longchamp.

In the Flying Childers, Final Objective won at 9-4 under James Doyle. Crownbreaker was second, with Flann Sunna and Fast Track close up.
