After winning the FA Inter-League Cup against the Herts Senior County League at Leicester’s King Power Stadium on May 9, his side earned the right to represent England in the UEFA Regions Cup. The tournament, founded in 1996 and held biennially (except 2021), features amateur teams from participating nations, with Spain, Italy, Poland, the Republic of Ireland, Portugal, Croatia, and the Czech Republic among past champions.

McCann and his players will travel to Sweden on September 6 for three games, aiming to become the first England side to reach the finals. He describes the experience as a "privilege and an honour" to be England manager for a week, noting the full England kit and the excitement of the amateur players, many of whom have day jobs like electrician Tim Kinsella, the team’s captain.
