The Vancouver Whitecaps on Tuesday signed Thomas Müller to a Designated Player contract extension through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season. Müller had been previously unsigned beyond 2026.

"Since arriving just over a year ago, Thomas has fully embraced this club, this city, and this province," Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said in a news release. "He has further strengthened the winning mentality we have built within our group over the last several years, while demonstrating just how committed he is to help this club succeed and how much he wants to win. There is no question that we have reached new heights as a club since Thomas arrived."

Thomas has played a significant role in that success through his world-class talent, performances, and leadership on the pitch. Since joining the Whitecaps in August of 2025, Müller scored a team-high 31 goals, tallying 19 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. He also helped lead the club to a 19W-4L-6D record in his 29 MLS starts, including the MLS Cup Playoffs.
