Record 15-time European champions Real Madrid will begin the Champions League league phase on Sept. 8 hosting coach José Mourinho's former club Inter Milan. UEFA published the 36 teams' eight-game schedules Saturday, two days after the draw in Monaco.

On opening day, Club Brugge hosts Aston Villa and AEK Athens welcomes LASK at 6:45 p.m. Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain host Slovan Bratislava -- coached by Yaya Touré, the first African leading a team at this stage -- while Liverpool host Atlético Madrid in a rematch of last season's opener.

Manchester United hosts debut-making Sabah of Azerbaijan on Sept. 10, the same day Como host RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich welcome Bodo/Glimt. Key October fixtures include Manchester City hosting PSG on Oct. 14 and Barcelona traveling to Baku to face Sabah on Nov. 25.

The final round on Jan. 27 features all 18 games starting simultaneously at 9 p.m. central European time. Barcelona hosts newcomers Como, coached by former star Cesc Fàbregas. Top eight teams advance directly to the round of 16, while ninth to 24th place enter February playoffs for the remaining spots.
