Philippe Coutinho revealed his former Brazil teammate Neymar played a pivotal role in his transfer to Santos. The attacker joined the club until the end of the season after being without a club since leaving Vasco de Gama in February due to mental exhaustion. Coutinho stated that Neymar was the first person in football to message him after his departure.

Initially, Coutinho declined, explaining he was not feeling well. However, Neymar contacted him again months later, and two weeks ago, Coutinho reconsidered. He accepted the challenge, citing a desire to return to playing football.

Coutinho will wear the No. 11 jersey and remain at the club until the end of the year. He acknowledged the weight of playing alongside Neymar but remains focused on performing well during his three-month stint. Neymar's contract at Santos also expires at the end of the year.
