Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane suffered a knee injury during the team's 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The incident occurred on the opening drive when Achane was tackled awkwardly by Chiefs safety Alohi Gilman. He was slow to get up and was eventually escorted to the medical tent before being taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Achane did not return to the game and was later ruled out. The 2023 third-round pick has a history of knee injuries, having missed five games as a rookie, but has otherwise been durable. He missed only two games over the previous two seasons despite a heavy workload.

Achane had a breakout 2025 season with 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. His 2026 season started slowly with just 159 scrimmage yards through two weeks. With running back Jaylen Wright inactive due to a stinger, the Dolphins activated only two backs: Achane and Ollie Gordon II, who scored his first touchdown of the season after Achane's injury.
