Cowboys Luepke Von Miller Jersey Trade Chicken Farm

Linebacker Von Miller obtained jersey No. 40 from fullback Hunter Luepke after a unique negotiation following Miller's arrival to the Dallas Cowboys. Luepke, a poultry science major from Texas A&M, received a small ownership stake in Greener Pastures Chicken, a farm co-owned by Miller, instead of accepting "chicken for life." He now wears No. 30. Miller noted this is likely the first NFL jersey swap involving chicken farm ownership.

Other co-owners of the farm include quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, and Nick Foles. Coach Brian Schottenheimer did not intervene in the deal, mentioning that players have previously traded numbers for cars and watches. He believes players with enough capital usually find a way to resolve number disputes.
