Caleb Williams Hamstring Injury: 3-4 Week Timeline for Bears QB

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has a Grade 2 hamstring injury that doctors estimate will sideline him for three to four weeks, according to league sources. The Bears ruled him out for their Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Coach Ben Johnson described the test results as 'somewhat encouraging' but noted Williams would be sidelined for 'some time,' later clarifying his status as week-to-week.

Williams, known as a quick healer, injured the same hamstring in college. The injury occurred during the fourth quarter of a 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Compounding the situation, backup Tyson Bagent reported concussion symptoms and was placed in the NFL's concussion protocol, leaving third-string quarterback Case Keenum as a potential starter.

Keenum, 38, has not started a game since the 2023 season with the Houston Texans. The Bears are still determining their quarterback depth chart for the upcoming game. If Williams misses three weeks, he will sit out against the Eagles, New York Jets, and Green Bay Packers, with a potential return in Week 6 against the Atlanta Falcons.
