Former Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby expressed remorse for his sports betting history in a new documentary series, "The Program: Texas Tech," which premieres Friday on Paramount+.

Sorsby, who was deemed permanently ineligible by the NCAA, said he has "a ton of remorse and a ton of regret" for his actions, which included thousands of wagers over his college career. He acknowledged placing more than 9,000 wagers totaling at least $90,000, including bets on his own team while at Indiana.

The series captures coach Joey Mc Guire and his team grappling with the fallout, including a federal lawsuit from the Big 12 and Sorsby's brief return after a court injunction.

Sorsby, who entered a gambling addiction treatment program in April, said he felt like he had "thrown everything" away, but found support from Mc Guire and his teammates.
