Two days after unranked Oklahoma State stunned No. 6 Oregon, 39-31, Ducks coach Dan Lanning took full responsibility for the team's poor performance. Lanning admitted there has been a "lack of leadership" across his squad through two games, stating, "And that starts with me." He called the loss the worst performance since arriving, noting Oregon was outgained 554-281 and mustered only 90 yards on the ground. Penalties plagued the Ducks, who committed seven for 66 yards.

A controversial fourth-down decision by Lanning to go for it on fourth-and-8 at the 33-yard line failed, all but sealing Oregon's fate. Lanning later said he regretted the call. Quarterback Dante Moore was hospitalized with dehydration after the game, and Lanning revealed Moore was receiving two IVs.

The loss dropped Oregon from No. 2 to No. 21 in the AP poll. Beyond the loss, Oregon faces injury concerns, as starting offensive lineman Trent Ferguson is "probably" out for the season with a knee injury. The Ducks host Portland State on Friday night looking to rebound.
