UK Built Environment Draws Private Equity Investment

Good morning, Nina Lindholm here with the Europe Wire from the London newsroom. This week has seen a flurry of private equity deals involving UK businesses, alongside Monterro announcing its first UK office in London. CVC is acquiring a stake in Ridge, an Oxford-based built environment consultancy, from Horizon Capital. Ridge has grown revenue at roughly 23 percent compound annual growth rate since 2022 and more than doubled its workforce to roughly 1,650 across 16 UK offices, with 88 percent of revenue from repeat clients. The firm has worked on projects including Manchester's skyline and the Northern Line extension.

Alpine Investors announced its first UK platform investment with Eight Group Service Partners, a hard facilities management platform combining MV Lifts, Enertech, KCE FM, DPP, Irwin M&E and four other businesses. Jack Armstrong, principal at Alpine, noted the UK hard FM market is roughly £24 billion ($32 billion; €28 billion) and expanding more than 5 percent annually. Separately, Queen's Park Equity completed the acquisition of PDC Group through its portco Canford Group, combining Canford Law with PDC to establish a tech-enabled specialist legal services platform for property debt recovery.
