Tailwater Capital, a Dallas-based energy firm, is pivoting toward gas infrastructure investments due to rising demand from power generation and LNG growth. Partner Stephen Lipscomb stated the firm is focusing on gas storage, gathering, processing, and transmission, noting that natural gas is a scalable power source for AI data centers and export needs. Tailwater, founded in 2013 by Jason Downie and Edward Herring, recently invested in Pickton Gas Storage in Texas.

Meanwhile, Fifth Ocean Capital and Tartan Investment Partners have invested in Complete Production Resources (CPR) to support the live events sector. Tailwater also sold Silver Creek Midstream’s Powder River Basin assets to Plains All American Pipeline for approximately $585 million, capitalizing on its contrarian oil and gas strategy despite ESG pressures.
