Apple's 20th-anniversary iPhone lineup could feature slightly larger displays than the iPhone 18 Pro models, according to a new leak shared on Weibo by prolific Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station. The iPhone 20 Pro is rumored to have a 6.41-inch screen with a resolution of approximately 2,686 × 1,236 pixels, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max may feature a 6.96-inch display with a resolution of around 2,912 × 1,340 pixels. For comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max measure 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches respectively, with resolutions of 2,622 × 1,206 and 2,868 × 1,320 pixels. The resolution increases align closely with the physical size gains, suggesting Apple will maintain roughly the same 460 ppi pixel density.

Digital Chat Station previously indicated the 6.96-inch panel would likely be marketed as a 7-inch display. Apple last increased premium iPhone display sizes with the iPhone 16 Pro lineup in 2024. The leaker also claims Apple is testing a "borderless quad-curved" display design, with the screen curving on all four sides, potentially creating an uninterrupted slab of glass with largely hidden metal frame bezels. Bloomberg reported in June that Apple had ramped up work on two sizes for the 20th-anniversary iPhone.

Apple is also developing thinner, brighter OLED panels, under-display Face ID, and potentially an under-display front camera. However, Digital Chat Station says Apple is now testing a smaller Dynamic Island-style hole-punch design similar to the iPhone 18 Pro models. Photo quality issues with the under-screen camera on the iPhone Duo illustrate the challenges Apple faces. The iPhone 20 Pro and iPhone 20 Pro Max are expected to launch in September 2027, following the regular iPhone 18 debut earlier that year.
