Apple has confirmed to 9to5Mac's Benjamin Mayo that it plans to release a software update early next week with a fix for a Face ID issue affecting some iPhone 18 Pro users.

Yesterday, MacRumors reported that Apple is testing iOS 27.0.1, which is likely to be the update containing the fix. The Face ID problem was previously reported on September 21.

The update comes shortly after Apple released iOS 27 on Monday, September 14, following its iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo event. iOS 27 delivered advanced Siri AI capabilities and a variety of refinements, including a new "iPhone Handoff" feature allowing users to switch between two iPhones using the same phone number.
