Dacia Renault's value brand is switching production of its low-cost Dacia Spring EV to Slovenia from China so it can benefit from French EV credits. Priced at €17,900 ($20,789), the Spring will cost as little as €12,200 ($14,169) after credits are applied. The Spring offers modest specs with a 27.5k Wh LFP battery providing 155 miles of WLTP range.

Optional 50k W DC fast-charging (€500) can bring the battery from 15 to 80 percent in around 28 minutes. Performance is tame at 80 horsepower and 129 pound feet of torque. Dacia has redesigned the Spring with a more muscular body design, sitting 27.5k Wh higher with flared wheel arches and black accents.

Storage space increases to 11.9 cubic feet, rising to 45.3 cubic feet with rear seats folded. The Spring features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.1 inch central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dacia has sold 210,000 Spring units globally since 2021.

The vehicle helps Renault meet its 2030 goal of 100 percent electrified sales in Europe.
