How to Adjust Liquid Glass Effect on iPhone iOS 27

Apple's Liquid Glass interface in iOS 27 introduces a new slider for customizing the effect's appearance and readability. Users can access this feature through Settings > Appearance > Liquid Glass, where dragging the slider left increases transparency while dragging right makes the interface more opaque. A center position offers a balanced look, and Apple provides a live preview so users can see changes instantly.

While iOS 26.1 added Tinted Mode to reduce opacity and boost contrast, many users still found the design language lacking. The iOS 27 update addresses these concerns with finer control over the Liquid Glass intensity. However, Lock Screen effects remain separate and must be adjusted independently.

For those who prefer to disable Liquid Glass entirely, the Accessibility settings offer a Reduce Transparency option under Display & Text Size. This more aggressive toggle removes most glassy effects.

iOS 27 is available for iPhone 11 models and newer. The public release rolled out in September, though beta testers could access it earlier through the Apple Beta Program. Updating to iOS 27 is required to use the new Liquid Glass slider.
