iPhone 18 Pro and the September 9 Event

Apple's September 9 "Surprise and shine" event is less than a week away, and the rumor mill is running at full tilt. New supply chain reports have also detailed a larger foldable and a "biggest overhaul" of the conventional line-up that will likely modernize Apple's flagship design language for the next decade. Another part of the 2026 and 2028 roadmap is a deeper focus on AI, with those features expected to be a key differentiator for the future devices.

Home Pod, Home Security, and Siri AI

Apple has been testing a new full-sized HomePod with Siri AI support, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Beyond that, code references in audio OS 27 suggest Apple is working on a new surround sound mode and a "Party Mode" that would allow output to use multiple Home Pods simultaneously. Gurman also reiterated that Apple's home security camera will be announced in 2027 alongside a monitoring service. The home security device, which was initially targeted for a sooner release, has been delayed as Apple prepares an AI security camera with deeper integration into its Home Kit ecosystem.

The MacBook Neo and Future Macs

The MacBook Neo is expected to get a major update in 2027, with Bloomberg's reporting indicating Apple will introduce a new chip, an updated display, and a design refresh. The current design, which introduced a new form factor to Mac users, will be updated with a Pro-level chip. Apple is also preparing for a broader product launch spree, with reports of nearly 14 products rumored to debut by early next year, covering new Macs, iPads, and new wearable launches for this fall.
