iPadOS 27 focuses on optimizations after iPadOS 26 perfected multitasking. The update improves Liquid Glass with more opacity options and introduces Siri AI, a full LLM distilled from Gemini's frontier model. Siri AI integrates into Spotlight, keeping a history of interactions in the new Siri app and accessing Messages, email, Apple Journal, and third-party apps.

System optimizations include paste suggestions, faster windowing actions, five times faster file transfers in Files, and a new menu bar. iPad users on any model should notice a difference.

Unlike other updates, iPadOS 27 won't install automatically soon after release even with automatic updates on. Users will have to manually install it.
