If you’re on the fence about installing macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple’s lengthy list of security fixes might convince you. If you’re sticking with an older version, install macOS Tahoe 26.7 or macOS Sequoia 15.8 sooner rather than later.

Apple published full security changelogs for macOS 27 Golden Gate, macOS Tahoe 26.7, and macOS Sequoia 15.8, detailing more than 200 vulnerabilities addressed. Acknowledgments include multiple AI-focused security teams and researchers, including OpenAI Codex Security, NVIDIA AI Red Team, and Anthropic Research.

Fixes in macOS 27 address vulnerabilities allowing malicious apps or attackers to execute arbitrary code with kernel or root privileges, escape the sandbox, bypass Gatekeeper, modify protected system files, access sensitive user data, and more. One AVEVideo Encoder flaw could allow a sandboxed app to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. A UDF file system vulnerability could similarly allow kernel-level code execution. Apple also fixed remote code execution through Bluetooth, CUPS, and WebDAV.

macOS Tahoe 26.7 and macOS Sequoia 15.8 patch many of the same vulnerabilities, including kernel-level, root-privilege, sandbox-escape, Gatekeeper-bypass, and remote-code-execution flaws. The older systems also feature additional fixes, including an Image IO vulnerability in macOS Sequoia 15.8 that could allow arbitrary code execution when processing a maliciously crafted image.
