Canada is ready to claw back cash from Stellantis unless production resumes at its Toronto-area factory, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The plant, in Brampton, Ontario, has been idle since 2024. Stellantis is in advanced talks to sell that factory to a Canadian armored-car maker.

The standoff highlights growing pressure on automakers to maintain output at government-supported sites.
