Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. announced its first quarter fiscal 2027 results, reporting net earnings attributable to shareholders of $828.5 million, an increase from $782.5 million in the prior year. Adjusted net earnings reached $827.0 million, up 12.2% from $737.0 million. Adjusted diluted earnings per share grew 15.4% to $0.90 from $0.78. Total merchandise and service revenues rose 4.1% to $4.9 billion. Consolidated same-store merchandise revenues increased 1.6%. US same-store merchandise revenues grew 1.7%, while Europe and other regions saw 1.2% growth. Road transportation fuel volumes decreased 1.6% in the United States but increased 1.1% in Canada. US fuel gross margin rose to 52.61¢ per gallon. Following the quarter, Couche-Tard announced plans to acquire all issued and outstanding shares of Żabka Group, Poland's largest convenience retailer operating more than 13,000 stores across Poland and Romania. Shareholders owning approximately 57% of Żabka's shares have entered into hard irrevocable agreements to tender into the voluntary offer. The Corporation cited continued progress through Core + More strategy and momentum in food, energy drinks and nicotine products as key drivers of performance.
