Naomi Klein, Astra Taylor Warn of End-Times Fascism

In their new book "End Times Fascism and the Fight for the Living World," leftist thinkers Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor argue a coalition of religious fundamentalists, ethnonationalists, and tech oligarchs is actively hastening global collapse. Klein, author of "The Shock Doctrine" and "Doppelganger," and Taylor, a founder of the Debt Collective, term this "end-times fascism" — a fascism that accepts planetary catastrophe as inevitable and fights over who survives.

Klein explains that unlike 20th-century fascists, today's version possesses nuclear weapons and understands climate change, yet makes peace with collapse. She points to Elon Musk's SpaceX ambitions as emblematic: accepting Earth's destruction while planning escape. Taylor identifies three factions: religious "end-timers" like evangelical Christian Zionists in the U.S. and Israel awaiting the Messiah; tech end-timers pursuing digital singularity at any cost; and ethnonationalists seeking racial survival.

Despite the alarming analysis, both authors remain hopeful the outcome isn't foregone. They wrote the book to expose this coalition's logic and mobilize resistance for the living world.
