Solar Industries Acquires Omnia for $1.4 Billion

Solar Industries India Ltd will acquire 100% of Omnia Holdings Ltd for Rs 12,951 crore ($1.355 billion), expanding its international footprint in commercial explosives. The Nagpur-headquartered company will buy the shares at ZAR 134.5 per share. The transaction remains subject to regulatory and competition approvals and is expected to close in early to mid-2027. Upon completion, Omnia will be delisted from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and A2X Markets. Omnia, a diversified chemicals company headquartered in Johannesburg, reported revenue of $1.41 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The acquisition will create a global platform for blasting solutions and strengthen Solar Industries' international presence. Omnia employs more than 3,500 people and operates in 23 countries with over 70 distribution centres. Its mining segment, BME, provides blasting systems and explosives to the commercial mining and quarrying industries.
