European Union member states are considering accelerating payments from the bloc's €90 billion ($104 billion) loan to Ukraine as Kyiv faces a funding crunch, the rotating presidency announced. "A significant number of member states" support the move, Ireland's top diplomat Helen McEntee told reporters after defense ministers met in Ireland on Tuesday. Ukrainian Defense Minister Evgeniy Khmara made the case for quicker payouts during the meeting, McEntee said. The bloc's rotating presidency, held by Ireland, is overseeing discussions on the loan disbursement strategy to address Ukraine's urgent financial needs amid ongoing conflict.
