Emma Raducanu has been taking inspiration from Andre Agassi's autobiography as she plots a route back to the top of tennis. Five years after her remarkable US Open triumph at age 18, the Briton has slipped to 98th in the world rankings.

Raducanu, now 23, said she was especially intrigued by the passage where Agassi got out of his slump in the late 1990s by creating his own training regimen. "A lot of it was so relatable," she told Uniqlo.

Agassi told BBC Breakfast: "It's wonderful to hear that anybody can relate. Hearing that 17 years later it can still impact somebody, it does make me feel good." Raducanu reached a career-high ranking of 10 in July 2022 but has been hampered by physical issues, including a stress fracture in her lower right leg.

Agassi, who won all four Grand Slams and Olympic gold, advised Raducanu to "focus on being the best of herself on a daily basis" and not judge that by results. He will captain Team USA in the Laver Cup at The O2 in London from 25-27 September.
